12-4 PM - Community Craft Area

The Midnight Commune was set up to provide calm and safer events. Dami (all pronouns), the founder of TMC, will run our craft area.

There is no prescribed way to do the crafts on the day, but The Midnight Commune will be on hand to help with any support that you would like with your crafting. The craft table will contain pens, pencils, colouring in sheets, foam, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, glue, and many more craft accessories. There will also be stim toys and ear defenders.

3 PM - Panel Discussion

Following on from last year, we will have another panel discussion. Our topic for this year is exploring the future of queer events and programming (theatre, arts, entertainment, nightlife, etc), activism and protest and organisations. We will explore the current landscape of events and nightlife, the closure and erasure of queer spaces and organisations. How do we protest, and how do these topics impact our community's mental and emotional well-being? We will also explore how to keep hold of our spaces by encouraging and supporting new ones.

4 PM - Spoken Word - Rhian Jade

Rhian Jade is a non-binary Theatre Maker and Spoken Word artist from Belfast, Ireland, creating work that pushes boundaries and empowers its audience to make positive change. Rhian is the also the artistic director of @soreslap_tc. They love using poetry to explore creatively, from writing haikus to whole plays in verse. Rhian writes about everything - from politics to pigeons, and they won’t ever stop!’

4:30 PM - Holly Rees (Acoustic Set)

Described as Laura-Marling-meets-Courtney- Barnett, Holly Rees is a queer indie rock act based in Newcastle, UK. Rees has toured in the UK and abroad (including a mammoth 44 date stint in Canada including festivals such as Canadian Music Week and Calgary Stampede), and has received support from BBC Introducing, BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio and more.

Starting her career as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter, Rees has found her sound in her full band line up - lovingly referred to by the band as “full band bash” - with songs full of honesty, grit and earworm hooks, and an energetic, fun, “nonsense-filled” live show to match.
